Abstract
The opening to the public of the Chapel of the Knights, one of the most important in the Cathedral of Cuenca due to its historical significance and artistic content, was one of the objectives of the intervention carried out in the summer campaign of July 2002 by the students of 2nd year of Sculpture of the ESCRBCM, under the direction of Luis Priego and Francisco del Hoyo. The article focuses on the process of restoring the graves of Don Garci Álvarez and his son, Don Alvar García “El Viejo”, from the Albornoz family, pointing out the alterations caused to the material by the problems of external humidity filtration that affect the work, and an intervention criterion that considers the space as a place of exhibition and worship.
