Abstract

This article describes and studies the unpublished tombstone of the Tomé family, artists from the 18th century in Toledo. The Higher School of Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Assets of Madrid carried out –within its summer campaigns in 2003– the restoration of the stone remains that make up the aforementioned tombstone. The epigraphic letter contains explicit references to Antonio Tomé (1664-1730), his wife and children, being made in 1725 and located in the parish church of Santa María de Roncesvalles y Santa Catalina, in Toro (Zamora). The intervention has involved the recomposition of the tombstone, following archaeological criteria applied to stone Cultural Assets, typical of Antiquity, with maximum respect for fragmentation.
