Abstract
The development of the VAC 3D application (Virtual Analysis for Conservation), which we at SIT Transportes Internacionales S. A. have been carrying out since 2.003, is assuming great advances in the control of the conservation status of Cultural Assets.
By using this type of contactless 3D digitization technology we continue to obtain very accurate information on cultural property at volume and surface level. This information allows us to keep track of its conservation status quickly and accurately.
This article shows a concrete application example of the VAC 3D system. The monitoring of conservation states through the application of this technology during the cleaning of an oil on canvas offers a qualitatively exceptional record of the same and highlights the precision capacity of the analyzes that can be carried out.
