Abstract

Now a few weeks ago, the news leapt into the newspapers that Gaudí's work known as "El Capricho" or "Villa Quijano" was going to be put up for auction by Sotheby's, with a starting price of 50 million pesetas. This fact, which in itself would not have any more importance, constitutes a good opportunity to draw attention to this Gaudian production little taken into consideration by specialists in the brilliant Catalan architect, but also, and above all, to denounce the lamentable state of conservation in which it is located, the severity of which requires immediate restoration and consolidation actions. On the other hand, its immediate restoration and consolidation. On the other hand, its restoration must be conditioned by a series of circumstances that make it difficult, complex and subject to controversy.
