Abstract
As restorers we approach a work of art to return, as far as possible, the original splendor of the moment of its creation; But not only do we approach with our gaze fixed on the wounds of time, we should not only heal it from the mistreatment of history through cleaning and patching. Our mission must go further: it must examine the work to place it in its space-time Arcadia, know what it preserves and what it lacks, in order to understand the evils to be treated and what must be respected, as it is part of the true essence with which it was conceived.
