Abstract
Corrosion in submerged archaeological objects with metallic support should not be conceived as a serious deterioration situation, where even the future of the conservation of the piece can be questioned. On many occasions, the "harmonious" balance established between the object and the aqueous medium is only altered by the extraction conditions of the materials and, ultimately, this "third life" may be the one that causes more consequences.
