Abstract
The restoration interventions have a very important historical-artistic documentation aspect, which sometimes brings positive surprises. In the case at hand, the treatment applied to a work (a window grille) of unknown origin and apparently of little documentary and historical value, has led to the recovery of a portion of the most recent historical memory of Toledo and two of its best-known characters: Julio Pascual and Martín, master rejero and goldsmith, and Pablo Rodríguez Dorado, photographer of Casa Rodríguez. This article explains the research that has been followed to find out the authorship of the piece and the person for whom it may have been created. On the other hand, the intervention carried out and the criteria used are specified.
