Abstract
This article presents a proposal for intervention in wall paintings
from the crypt of the Convent of San Ildefonso de Trinitarias Descalzas in Madrid.
These paintings are the epitaphs of some of the burials located in the
burial structure of the north wall, and were discovered during the search for
the mortal remains of Miguel de Cervantes. After the discovery description
and the explanation of its different states of appearance, a solution is presented to
the condition of the Archbishopric of Madrid that all the remains found be
keep in the crypt. For this reason, currently a large part of the funeral space is
found occupied by modern reduction boxes containing the remains
found during the investigation. The use of the niches is proposed as a place
storage and formulates a starting system, placing it on a new support and
anchoring to the wall of the paintings that allows the opening of the niches to allow
maintenance controls of archaeological remains and their investigation
