Abstract
Much can be said about the author of the monograph and its title. A. Díaz Martos is one of the professionals to whom the country owes more than gratitude for his dedication (in addition to controversies that lead nowhere), in favor of the conservation of Cultural Assets. Unfortunately, he died in 1988 due to an unfortunate accident, his name will always be linked to many facets of the science that he successfully cultivated. From his extensive curriculum we could highlight: the direction of the ICCR, the creation and direction of the publishing house Arterestauro ("unicum" in our country), the scientific expertise, the advice of UNESCO and much more.
