Abstract
Although there are various theories about the origin of glass, among which that of Pliny the Elder stands out in his work NATURALIS HISTORIA, they are still based on stories and legends that probably do not strictly conform to reality.
It is probable that it arose by chance when a fired clay object was accidentally vitrified and then used only as a ceramic coating, or that its origin is in relation to metallurgy because it is separated for the obtaining of copper Opaque and colored glass slags, usually blue and green, colors that match the first glass-paste objects.
