Abstract

This article reviews as a whole the panorama of mortars and grouts in the
factory restoration. Starting from a series of very widespread topics and errors,
attempts to place the relationship between aerial lime, hydraulic lime, Portland cement, and
pozzolans, in both their historical and current use, in the execution of works. For this I
analyzes its composition, setting mechanism, properties, alterations, durability
and interference with the historical support and the use of certain mortars is proposed.
