Abstract

The text that follows is intended to present an interesting arche
wooden table found in the Cathedral of San Pedro de Soria and restored in the
Higher School of Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Assets of Madrid.
The greatest interest of the piece lies in its pictorial decoration based on castles
and lions that constitute an early example (c. 1230-1252) of the use with
together of both emblems. We will also try to formulate a hypothesis
on the use of this casket.
